The Nigerian music industry is a perfect example of the phrase “Soldier go, Soldier Come”, as the elders in the game who were once dominating the industry fades out, the young and hungry artists are constantly showing their willingness and ability to take up their place. A good number of artists whose name didn’t ring a bell in the previous years leveraged 2018 and became a household name in such a short period of time.
GodGoBless Media present list of promising and fast-rising artist to look out for in 2019.
Victor AD
Number one on the list is Etins records singer, Victor Adere who is popularly known as Victor AD. Prior to the release of his hit single “Wetin We Gain“, the South-South artiste already had a good number of songs to his name including the likes of Bigger You, Body go tell you, No Idea. But he got the attention of everyone after the release of “Wetin We Gain” as the song quickly became an anthem for every hustler in the country and was enjoying massive airplay at the time. The music video has amassed a total of 4.6 million views on YouTube since it’s release till now.
After the release of “Wetin We Gain”, the singer hasn’t released any song again but we’re pretty sure he’s cooking up something for us in the studio and we’re optimistic about his career and ability to keep up with his new found success. Victor AD reportedly has an unreleased song with D’Prince and also with Phyno, so be on the watch for Victor AD next year!

Terri
Another artist to look out for in the year 2019 is Starboy Entertainment signee Terri RYN. Terri made a refix of DJ Jimmy Jatt’s single, Oshe featuring Wizkid and he posted the video on Instagram on the 17th of December 2017 and tagged Wizkid. The post got the attention of Wiz and Terri secured a recording deal with Starboy Entertainment and his first project with the label was “Soco“, a song which is arguably the biggest song of the year 2018.
Terri handled the first verse of the song and when he came through we knew it was a vibe and his talent was just so evident. After “Soco”, Terri released his own single titled “Bia“, another jam that strengthened his fan base further and proved to us all that he is here to stay.
So you can imagine what the future holds for someone who has this magnitude of talent and is a protégé of Wizkid, you can expect nothing less but a promising future. So don’t sleep on Terri in 2019, there’s definitely more to come from the Starboy act next year.
Teni
One thing I really admire about Teni is how she carved her own path to success in a male-dominated industry without having to dress sensually and without using the influence of her big sister Niniola who was already a big brand. The singer initially started with creating hilarious videos and covers of songs on Instagram while she was still studying in the US. She got signed by Shizzi into Magic Fingers Records but later moved on and got signed to Dr. Dolor Entertainment.

And her first single under the Dr. Dolor label was the perverted-uncle-shunning single “Fargin” which instantly became a hit song. And she followed up with a series of hit singles including the likes of Askamaya, Case, and Pray featuring Phyno. In the space of a year, she is already becoming an A-list Artist in Nigeria. Be on the lookout for Teni next year because she hasn’t started yet.
Lyta
Another artist to look out for in the coming year 2019 is the member of the YBNL mafia family, Lawal Raheem who is popularly known as Lyta. Lyta got signed into YBNL Nation by Olamide on the 14th of February 2018. His talent was immediately apparent after the release of his first single under YBNL “Time” featuring Olamide. The single amassed a lot of positive reviews from music lovers in the country and enjoyed a lot of airplay as at the time of its release.
This didn’t come as a surprise to many considering the fact that he was signed by Olamide who has the unique gift of foreseeing potentials in talented upcoming artists. His second single “Self Made” didn’t leave his fans disappointed as he delivered smoothly on the track. I’m sure he has more in store for us in 2019.
Broda Shaggi
We all got to know Broda Shaggi via his Instagram comedy videos and I didn’t realize there was more to him aside from his comedy skit until he released his debut single “Pariwo” featuring Teni. Broda Shaggi delivered on the song like a pro and everything about the song, from the lyrics of the song to the production and mixing, was top-notch. He followed that up with another single “Oya Hit Me” which triggered a lot of dance videos on Instagram.

His two singles “Pariwo” and “Oya Hit Me” were released under Dr. Dolor Entertainment and he also has an affiliation with DMW so we should be expecting from Broda Shaggi in terms of music in 2019.
Peruzzi
Prior to joining DMW (Davido Music Worldwide), Peruzzi was signed to Golden Boy Entertainment and have been making good music but he wasn’t getting the attention he deserved until he switched up his game and got affiliated to Davido’s record label, DMW and that was the game changer.
He joined the label on their single “Mind” and gave a stellar performance as he took on the last verse on the song. Even tho he has only one single (Mata) of his own since he joined the label, he talent was able to secure him features on top songs like “Amaka” by 2baba, Aje by DMW, Yawa by Ice Prince and Aza by DMW. So we should be expecting more singles from the DMW’s act in 2019 and he also has an unreleased E.P titled “Heartwork” which is scheduled to be released on the 21st of December.
