According to Variety, Grammy producers would not let her perform "7 Rings" unless it was part of a medley. Ariana wound up scrapping the performance and decided to not attend the Grammys.

So, Ariana seemed like she was having something of an anti-Grammys party. She even invited Bette Midler, who praised Ariana for calling out the Grammys:
