We all have different points of views and this may contribute to making mistakes especially when we communicate with our partners.
However, we may not know that we are making some of these mistakes, while others can be totally avoided if carefully observed.
Here are some of the communication mistakes we make.
1. Requesting your partner to be open while you are not doing the same
Why do you ask your partner to talk about all their worries, problems and issue while you are holding back yourself in some way?
2. Always bringing up the past
Couples should learn to stay in the present and avoid the past at all costs. It does not matter who does it often; both of you should learn to keep each other happy in the present and not make each other sad by bringing up old stuff.
3. Choosing the worst time possible to engage in a conversation
Always look for an opportunity when the other partner is happy to engage in a conversation that might be difficult. This will help both of you since meaningful conversations can only be done when both of you are not angry.
4. Having a misconception that communication is hard and bad at the same time
There is a possibility that both of you might not be good communicators and always picked the bad time to engage in conversations, as well as picking the wrong words. Once you work on this, you will come to realise how easy it is to solve any problem through communication.
